About the Mountain

Yukon’s top spot for skiing, biking, and year-round adventure.

Mount Sima, located just 15 minutes from downtown Whitehorse, Yukon, is the territory’s largest ski hill and a year-round adventure destination.

Since opening in December 1993, Mount Sima has grown to be a hub for outdoor recreation in the Yukon. The main lodge was built in 2007 when Whitehorse hosted the Arctic Winter Games, providing a welcoming space for visitors year-round.

We are a non-profit organization, Friends of Mount Sima Society, governed by a dedicated board of directors.

In winter, we offer downhill skiing and snowboarding across 15 marked runs, with private and group lessons, equipment rentals, and a variety of terrain parks featuring 25 freestyle elements. Our high-speed fixed-grip quad lift and handle tow keep you moving while our cozy lounge and cafeteria provide the perfect après-ski experience.

We’re also proud to host major competitions, including the annual Aurora Cup, a FIS (Fédération Internationale de Ski) race, and the Lost In Paradise – Parasnowboard World Cup, which debuted in 2024. We welcome top athletes for Yukon Freestyle’s Canada Cup, featuring Big Air Night, and the Yukon Champs competition, as well as Alpine Yukon’s Sima Cup and Yukon Cup races.

When the snow melts, the adventure continues with downhill mountain biking, a scenic disc golf course, and Alpine Escape—our glamping experience featuring wall tents and a geodome. Guests can enjoy summer dining at our BBQ and relax in our year-round lounge.

No matter the season, Mount Sima is your destination for adventure and competition!
